The first celebrity figure I would like to be friends with would probably be Luke Hemmings. Luke is the lead singer and backup guitar player in my favorite band, 5sos. I would like to be his friend because not many fans have said that when they met him he was anyway rude, trolls will lie about him as a person but all around I think he is a very nice, kindhearted person. Luke also has a dog named Petunia and she is a French Pit Bull and she is the cutest thing anyone has ever seen. Luke and his girlfriend Arzaylea adopted her from a shelter that was going to put her down if no one wanted her and I thought that was an amazing thing to do.
The second celebrity that I would like to be friends with would be Billie Joe Armstrong, lead singer of Green Day, can you see a pattern here? I really like bands. Billie is a really cool person all around, he is a fun, care-free guy and I feel like he'd be such an amazing person to have in my life. Billie married his high school girlfriend and had 2 kids, they got divorced but what I stand him for is that him and his ex wife are still friends and they support their 2 kids as they would if they were still together and I think that is amazing because not many ex's can do that easily. Lastly, the third celebrity who I would make my friend would have to be Kurt Cobain, lead singer of Nirvana, though he is no longer with us due to suicide OR his wife killed him and got away with it, there are a lot of conspiracies about his death. Kurt did a lot of good things along with bad things. I believe everyone deserves a second chance but if they break trust again, no more. Kurt went through some really bad things in his life and some really personal things happened to him and he openly talked about it and I give him major props for that. Him and his wife, Courtney Love (who is a physio may I add), had 1 child together and when he was born was when him and Courtney started having problems but even through all of that he still held strong and never once let down fans at a show. If I had a time machine the first thing I would do is see Nirvana in concert.

1. In a paragraph or two compare (similarities) and contrast (differences) Night and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Some things movies had in common were the gas chambers, how scary this was, all the yelling, the crematoriums, and people being beaten. Some differences the movies had were that a pretty healthy kid should't have been sent to the gas chamber without selection, Schmuel would have been caught sitting behind the pile of stuff everyday and would have been punished.
2. Choose 1 character from Night or one character from Boy in the Striped Pajamas to analyze. Make note (explain) of their physical appearance, character traits, feelings, demeanor, thoughts, etc. Bruno from Boy in Striped PJ's was a very quiet person in the beginning of the movie, he slowly got more talkative and adventurous. He had bright blue eyes and he was a bit skinny, kind of kept to himself a lot. Bruno didn't realize what was really happening at the camps, he really just thought that the camp was a home for Jew, in which it was but he didn't realize how horrible they were until he crawled under the fence and went to Schmuel's hut to find Schmule's father only to be herded in a big pile of people into what they thought would be a shower but ended up being the gas chamber where they were killed. 3. How have your thoughts or understandings of the Holocaust changed since completing this unit (background research, Night, Boy in the Striped Pajamas? Since a few years ago I have been really stumped by the Holocaust because it was such a confusing process and why any human would even think about doing that to another is sick. Since reading Night my head has been a little more wrapped around one question, why? Through out the whole book I wondered why they did this to Jews, it's only a religion! 4. Which did you like better and why (book or movie)? I liked the book Night better because I think the author was able to express what he had been through very well and it came across very clear when he was explaining something. 5. Any final thoughts or questions you have regarding either the book, movie, or Holocaust in general? I really thought this was a good unit to study and I've always found the Holocaust very interesting. |
